Star Wars Celebration bound!

Well our big holiday is approaching fast!  On sunday August 19th we hit the road headed for Orlando florida.  Its roughly a 32 hour drive from Thunder Bay Ontario!  Ill need lots of WWPD podcast goodness to keep me going!  So crank it out boys!!  lol.

The purpose of our trip is to attend the largest Star wars fan fest there is.  (Celebration VI) As members of the 501st Legion we simply cannot miss this event.  We went 2 years ago and had the time of our lives.  The 501st Legion is an international costuming club.  We make our own armor and costumes to get accepted.  And the requirements for quality are par with the movies themselves.  Its a hobby in itself just researching, sourcing and building each suit of armor.  Much the same way as we do for our Flames of War armies.
Sierra and I spent some time this past weekend getting ready.  Above you can see some of my Animated Clone wars series Clone trooper armor.  And Sierra's Return of the Jedi Biker scout armor.
This is my Episode IV A new Hope Storm Trooper armor.
Sierra had to repair some things on her armor.  The boots had some vinyl covering come loose and one of her shoulder pieces needed some strapping repair.  Aside from that we both polished everything and then packed it all up in large tool chests for transport.

So looking forward to this trip as we get to meet friends we have met from all around the world.  And being apart of the 501st Legion we get to take part in the whole experience that much more.
Check out this Time lapse video of our Club photo at Celebration V.  Can you spot me? lol

On the drive home we plan on heading up the east coast and trying to hook up with family and friends along the way.  A stop in Richmond is on the list!

Talk to you all soon and May the Force be with you.

HE 129B3s "Panzerknacker"

They Knack Panzers.  Big time!  I mean who doesnt like a PaK 40?....  That can fly.  They say this bad boy could only fire max 3 rounds in a row before the recoil would literally slow the plane into a stall.  But if this thing hits it good night Comrade.

In Flames of War:
Hs 129B3Cannon4153+Flying Tank, No HE.
MG365+

And Flying tank is nice since it makes all those 50 Cal AA MGs the evil Americans have into loud BB guns.

Anyway I had picked up an old box of these that contained 3 planes.  I decided that I would paint them all in different camo. Here they are all done.

This one will be used for my East Front winter fights.  I used the airbrush to apply the camo.
Here we have the more traditional Green/Dark Green camo.  I did this one Hard edged with a brush.
I also tried black lining for the first time.  The planes have so many lines to trace.  Normally I use heavy black washes and dry brushing.  This time I just blacklined.
Here I tried a Hinterhalt style camo pattern.  And I really like how it turned out!
Ready for takeoff!  At only 115 points I will be taking this support option as often as possible.

Time to step it up a notch!

So I read this article on the WWPD network. LINK  And in it Steven lets us know hes open to people submitting applications to become partner members!  I got pretty excited about that and immediately sent in my App.  Within like an hour Steven replied accepting my blog.  Great!  but I have one problem, my blog is pretty new and Im not very savvy at the interwebs.  I get by just fine but I feel like to be a quality WWPD network partner I need to get better.  One such thing I need to do is come up with a better Blog name.  Something catchy and easy to remember.  Names like Breakthrough Assault, Throck of war, Ferbs Fighting Force etc.  All have great creativity and pull.

Id like your help in coming up with a name for this blog.  I was thinking "Stormtrooper move"  Which clearly refers to the german special rule but also to Star Wars stormtroopers.  Which fits perfectly.  But Im wondering if anyone has any other ideas or suggestions?  Or what you think of Stormtrooper Move.

Please let me know what you think before I do anything crazy!  :P
